Nevada’s primary election is June 9. Early voting centers close Friday and voting advocates said eligible voters should review their options for registration and ballot submission before casting a ballot.

The Nevada Secretary of State’s website lists early voting centers and Election Day polling places. It also allows online registration through June 4. Voters also can register at a polling place on Election Day.

Daniel Howat, creative lead for the nonprofit Battle Born Progress, said the most important thing is that eligible voters make their voices heard.

“Make a plan to vote,” Howat urged. “If you're voting in person, know where you're going. If you're voting by mail, mail your ballot in early or drop it off during early voting.”

The Secretary of State’s office recommended voters who want to vote by mail send their ballots by June 2 or bring them to a drop box.

Certain voters are eligible to receive and return a ballot by mail using Nevada’s Effective Absentee System for Elections, or NV EASE. They include Nevada uniformed service members and their families, citizens outside the U.S., Nevada residents with disabilities and tribal members who live on reservations.

Polls will be open Tuesday, June 9, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Howat stressed voters should watch for any attempts at voter intimidation.

“If you see something wrong at your polling place, write it down and call 866-OUR-VOTE, a free nonpartisan voter protection hotline,” he advised.

Voters also can register a complaint online at 866ourvote.org.
